This year has screamed by. I'm already starting to plan for next year. It should be interesting. I'm close to finishing the first draft of my book on consulting and I'm planning out some stuff I want to do next year.
I've already figured out my playtime stuff. I'm also determined to replace the Ducati I crashed with another one. This time around I'll avoid feasting on asphalt.
In 2009 I'm going to begin changing the way I work as a consultant. I want to begin moving away from doing T&E stuff and start doing more specific and defined services. I also want to be more location independent. It still baffles me that organizations are willing to ship entire projects overseas to fail in the hands of developers they have no control over but are resistant to letting local developers work form their home offices where they are more comfortable and productive and more like to succeed.
Anyway, what are your plans?
Are you betting that 2009 will be the beginning of a great depression or that the recession of 2009 will turn out to be the start of a new bubble economy?
