I was listening to an episode of FastForward Radio (The Speculist) and one of the hosts mentioned doing a workout he found on Tim Ferris’s blog: From Geek to Freak: How I Gained 34 lbs. of Muscle in 4 Weeks. There is also a diet that is somewhat related: How to Lose 20 lbs. of Fat in 30 Days… Without Doing Any Exercise.
The diet piece works – Earlier I cut out all sugar and most carbs and dropped 10 pounds in a few weeks. It wasn’t really hard. I’ve kept the weight off, but I’ve not really made any further progress lately because I’ve not continued the program.
Both of Tim’s programs sound like short cuts. Any time people hear about short cuts they get upset. You hear things like “it can’t possibly work” or that some how it works but only because the person is a special case. Whatever. I’ll give both programs a shot. At the same time.
I’m already doing the diet. I’ll start the work out this week too. I’ll take measurement on the first (2009-01-01) and post them and then we’ll take measurements again at the end of the month (2009-01-31) and see what my results are.
One things I need to work out is my left elbow. I still don’t have full extension or flexion from my accident this summer. I’ll make some appointments with Eric my Physical Therapist to see if we can straighten it the rest of the way. It is really close.
Right now I weight about 210lbs. my goal is to weight 190lbs. I also want to be in good enough condition to get through a full track day riding at my limit. That means good strength and excellent stamina. Riding a motorcycle at its limit is an intense exercise.
