Been working like a dog

During the past month or so I’ve been pulling a lot of 50 and 60 hours weeks to kick this project out the door.  On one hand I’m really pleased with myself.  In 6 short weeks I’ve taken a project from its initial phases all the way to UAT (I’m code/feature complete for release 1).

The downside of doing this though is that I’ve not been able to do the other stuff my client needs.  They need me to be an architect not a coder.  They seriously need process for their projects.  They fly too much by the seat of their pants.  The problem is that I let myself get sucked in to that mode.  Very easy to do.  At least for me.

Starting next week I’ll stay out of Visual Studio and focus on putting together the documentation they need and start enforcing good process discipline for development projects.
